RAZA was born from one of the first song ideas I had for a bigger funk band. (That song is called Papaya and can be found on our first release "ThanksMixTape.") I took the initial funk burner and slowed it down to a dark folkloric Cumbia.

As the new iteration version grew, I wanted to have two voices on it (the Indigenous and the Conquistador), so I invited one of the best male Mexican vocalists I've ever met, Emil Rojo. I've wanted to collaborate with him for a long time and this was a great opportunity to make it happen. We took turns in a call-and-response approach, signing the song in one take together.

This on is dedicated to the historic freedom fighters in Mexico.

Why do you love this album? Well, it is the quality of ALL the Analog Africa releases , the astonishing presentation- artwork, AWESOME booklets, the mastering, the music first of all and the feeling you connect with it and the artists involved. Due to not earning enough I changed from vinyl to CDs, but I am glad for the high quality downloads of the vinyl only releases that you are able to burn to disc.
